Gary James Beck, 62, of Palmyra, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020. He was born Monday, Nov. 11, 1957, in Berwick, to Donald E. and Verda Mae (Hettinger) Beck of Beavertown. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Diane K. (Schaeffer) Beck.

He graduated from West Snyder High School, Class of 1976, attended Williamsport Community College, and graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1982. He spent his entire professional career, spanning 37 years and various positions, with Nationwide Insurance. His most recent role was serving as a training consultant in the claims area. He was a faithful member of Grace Point Evangelical Free Church where he served as an usher, was active in the men’s breakfast ministry, and joyfully participated in the coffee club. He enjoyed classic cars, vintage boats, water skiing, and spending quality time with family at their cabin. He had an amazing ability to fix anything and employ his craftsmanship building mailboxes, etching glass, or helping a neighbor. Gary was a man of God and lived for Jesus. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a daughter, Ashley N. Beck, of Palmyra, and her fiancé, Jonathan Beachy; a son, Austin J. Beck, of Palmyra; a brother, Robert C. Beck, and wife, Denise, of Mt. Airy, MD; a sister, Kathy B. Coslett, and husband, Scott, of Berwick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited for viewing on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Grace Point Evangelical Free Church, 740 Leon Ave., Palmyra with Pastor Bob Sproul officiating.
