Gary L. Grumbein, 85, of Annville, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at his daughter’s residence. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Greenawalt) Grumbein, who passed away in 2024.

Gary was born in Hershey on Aug. 15, 1940, to the late George L. and Almeda (Hostetter) Grumbein. He was a 1958 Palmyra High School graduate. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Gary was a wood pattern maker, working for Bethlehem Steel and then for Pennsylvania Patterns, a business that he co-founded after leaving Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of Palm Lutheran Church. Gary was known for having a green thumb, taking care of all types of animals, his love of the outdoors, fishing, tying flies for fly fishing, teaching others to fish, and being very charitable. Gary was in the Navy, but didn’t make it his career because he instead wanted to start his family. He will always be remembered as a kind soul and as the person who would literally give the shirt off his back for you.

Surviving are his children, Melissa Grumbein, and her husband, Michael Long, of Annville, and Jeremy Grumbein, and his wife, Nikki, of Harrisburg; grandchildren, William Grumbein (Hannah), Gary Long (Devon), Jared Grumbein (Angel), and Byron Grumbein (Hilary); great-granddaughter, Cora; and many fur grandbabies and fur great-grandbabies. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy E. Grumbein; and brother, Thomas Grumbein.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with Military Honors.
