Gary N. Schauer, 83, went to be with his Lord on May 3, 2025. He was the son of the late John and Esther (Smith) Schauer. He was the loving husband of Sandra F. (Artz) Schauer, to whom he was married for 35 years.

Gary retired from Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster, and worked at Bethlehem Steel in Lebanon for 19 years. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Lebanon, where he served as deacon for several years. He was a former member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Lebanon.

He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, exercising at the Lebanon YMCA, and working on various committees at his church.

Gary is also survived by his children, Michelle McGuffin, of Port Republic, MD, and Keith Schauer, of Jacksonville, FL; stepchildren, Gregory Singer, husband of Patricia, of Richland, and Douglas Singer, of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Morgan and Ryan McGuffin, and Melissa and Kristin Schauer; great-granddaughter; brother, Howard Schauer, of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Sally Schauer; and serveral nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Joan, wife of the late Dale Landis; and brothers, Leo Schauer and John, husband of the late Vicky Dissinger.

A celebration of life will be held on May 17, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Grace United Church of Christ, 1000 S. 5th Ave., Lebanon, PA, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to his church at the address above or the Alzheimer’s Association, donorservices.alz.com. Grose Funeral Home, Inc., Myerstown, was entrusted with the arrangements.
