George G. Eisley Jr., 91, of Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, at Pleasant View Communities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila, who died on Aug. 25, 1990.

Born in Newmanstown in 1934, George was the son of the late George G. Sr. and Grace (Brigel) Eisley.

In 1956, George married his high school sweetheart, Lila Wise. Four years earlier, they graduated as the top two students in the Myerstown High School class of 1952. George went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Dickinson College, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Raven’s Claw, and numerous honor societies.

George served two years in the U.S. Army. He worked with his father in the family business, Uhler & Kline, later named Eisley Hardware, at 6th and Cumberland streets in Lebanon. The store was popular in busy downtown Lebanon from the 1940s until 1972, when it was destroyed by fire. He then ventured into the sewing business, owning Manheim Garment Company until retiring in 2005.

He was a well-known and accomplished golfer, one of only six players to win the prestigious Jake Gittlen tournament more than once (1970 and 1974). He was the Lebanon County Champion in 1973. A longtime member of the Lebanon Country Club, George won the club championship five times between 1959 and 1994. His 1994 win was over his son Eric, marking the only time in Lebanon CC history that a father and son played against each other for the title. He was an excellent poker and bridge player, with great card aptitude from a young age. He was a private pilot, owning his own plane, enjoying flights to golf destinations and family trips to Long Beach Island, NJ.

George is survived by his daughter, Valerie L. Morick, wife of James; son, Eric G. Eisley;  grandchildren, Daniel Morick, husband of Vanessa Williams, Caitlin M. Cristaldi, wife of Chris, and Chelsea Morick; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Cora, Everett, and Sebastian.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Grose Funeral Home Inc., 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
