George H. Rodkey, 90, of Jonestown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 2, 2023, at his residence. He was the loving husband of the late Myrtle E. Rodkey, who passed away on October 19, 2021.
George was born in Lebanon on Sunday, October 16, 1932.
He was the son of the late Joseph G. and Margaret E. Rohrbach Rodkey. He was a graduate of Lebanon High School. George served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the River of Life Church of God in Lebanon, and an active member of Family Life Center, Baton Rouge, LA.
He is survived by his son, Brian L. Rodkey, of Annville; daughter, Deborah L. Hoffman, of Myerstown; sister, Betty L. Bender, of New Bunkerhill; brothers, Kenneth C. Rodkey, of Palmyra, and Richard A. Rodkey, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Tshudy, Joshua Hoffman, Michelle Deitzler, Melissa, wife of Zachary Curtis, and Joseph Hoffman; and great-grandchildren, Daniel Deitzler, Benjamin Deitzler, Ashley Gonzalez, Samuel Gonzalez, Jasmine Tshudy, and Michael Schreiber.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Peter M. Hoffman, granddaughter, Jamie L. Hoffman Gonzalez, great-grandson, Caleb J. Deitzler, and brother, Joseph G. Rodkey, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown. There will be a viewing at 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial with military honors will follow at the Covenant/Greenwood Cemetery, Lebanon.
