George R. Hitz, 90, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at his home. He was the husband of Earla M. Shamber Hitz.
Born in Lebanon on Dec. 30, 1932, he was the son of the late Walter and Hilda Ebling Hitz.
Following school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the former Lash Plumbing and Heating, where he had worked as a plumber. George enjoyed hunting and woodworking. And he always enjoyed tinkering around the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Robin Martin, of Palmyra; his stepchildren, Robert Firestone, of SD, Ricky Firestone, of Elizabethtown, and Renee Dove, of Fredericksburg; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene, Walter, and James Hitz; his stepbrothers, Russell and Edward Krall; and his stepson, Randy Firestone.
At his request, there will be no services.
