Gerald J. Boughter, 84, of Cornwall, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at home. He was the husband of Helen M. (Lewandowki) Boughter, to whom he was married for 54 years. Born in Lebanon on February 12, 1936, Gerald was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Swetonka) Boughter.

He was a 1954 graduate of Cornwall High School and worked for Cornwall Ore Mines and Bethlehem Steel. Gerald was a faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Cornwall, where he was active in their Holy Name Society. He was a lifelong member of First Aid and Safety Patrol, a board member for the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority and served as a financial secretary for the Rexmont Fire Company. He also dedicates 31 years of service to Cornwall’s Borough Council. Gerald enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer and was an incredibly talented woodworker.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Rosemarie Bomberger and her husband John, John Boughter, and Andrew Boughter. He was the last of his immediate family. Gerald was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and David Boughter.
