Gladys A. Royer, 98, formerly of Grantville, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in the Lebanon Valley Home, Annville. She was the wife of the late John W (Whitty) Royer, who died on May 1, 2012.

Born in Lebanon County on Aug. 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Ada Kreiser.

Gladys was a member of Emmanuel U.M. Church, Indiantown Gap. In addition to raising three children and helping with the grandchildren, she earned her Practical Nursing degree at the age of 50 and worked in the nursing field for 15 years before retiring at age 65. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed traveling, spending time at their mountain cabin, and gardening. Her biggest pride and joy was her family. Besides wanting to outlive her mother who passed at age 101; she wanted to be the woman with the most Eagle Scouts in the family; and she currently has three Eagles Scouts, with another working on that honor.

She is survived by sons, Leonard, husband of Irma Royer, of Jonestown, and Gary, husband of Kathryn Royer, of Cave Creek, AZ; daughter, Diane, wife of Ronald Kaylor; grandchildren, Douglas, Lance, Matthew, Niles, Denise, and Tiffany; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl, of CO, Richard, of CA, Merlin, of MO, and Glenn, of Jonestown; sisters, Carrie Walmer and Mary Risser, both of Annville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Lester; and sisters, Doris Dundore and Ruth Mindy.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. There will be a viewing at 10 a.m., until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, E. Hanover Twp.
