Gladys S. Grumbine, 93, formerly of Fredericksburg, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, at StoneRidge Towne Centre, Myerstown. She was the wife of the late John H. Grumbine.

Born in Rock, PA on May 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Viola Heinbach Fox and stepfather Harry T. Fox. Gladys had worked as a presser at a shirt factory while she was in her twenties. When she started having children, she became a stay-at-home mother. She was a member of the Sattazahn Lutheran Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Gladys enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, and helping others. She was a giver and forgiver. The most important part of her life was her family.

She is survived by her sons, Bryan C. husband of Christine Grumbine, of Fredericksburg, Mark A. husband of Bonnie Grumbine, of Lebanon and Clark A. husband of Erica Grumbine, of Jonestown; daughters Rita A. wife of the late Nicholas Natale, of Port Orange, FL, Brenda M. wife of Warren Zeigler, of Fredericksburg, and Robin L. wife of Tom Weekley, of Sistersville, WV; brother Charles Fox, of Tower City; sister Mabel Edwards, of Summit Station; and sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Luther Fox, sister Ruth Long and stepbrother, Joe Fox.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Sattazahn Lutheran Church, 185 Green Point School Rd., Jonestown. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
