Glenda Hope (Hummell) Arnold, 84, of Lebanon, PA, died peacefully on Jan. 14, 2021, at Spangcrest Manor, where she resided for the past three years. She was the wife of the late John E. (Jack) Arnold, to whom she was married for 56 years.
She was born on July 8, 1936, to the late Harry and Laura (Collins) Hummell. Sadly, Glenda was preceded in death by two of her sons, John E., Jr. and Michael Arnold, as well as a sister, Mary Hummell, and a brother, Harry Hummell. She is survived by a son, Paul Arnold, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Cameron Arnold, of Lebanon, PA, Franklin Arnold, of VA, and great-granddaughter, Sophia Arnold. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces, including Linda Winters, of Myerstown, PA, with whom she worked with for many years. Glenda also shared a 38-year friendship with her close family friend, Lynne Schaeffer, who visited Glenda faithfully and tirelessly advocated on her behalf.
Glenda was a graduate of Lebanon High School. After raising her children, Glenda was employed by the Lebanon County Correctional Facility, where she was retired from. Glenda enjoyed time spent with her family and, especially, her weekends playing and baking with her great-granddaughter, Sophia. Glenda enjoyed long walks, lunches with friends, and was also an avid reader of suspense novels. Glenda looked forward to her many long talks with her sister-in-law, Fay Frantzalso, of Lebanon. Glenda also found pleasure in the company of her many rescued cats, much to the wonderment of her family.
Glenda was loved by all and admired for her positive outlook even through the many hardships she had to endure. She will be greatly missed by her family and those lucky enough to call her a friend.
