Glenn L. Gockley, 86, of Myerstown, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy L. Firestine Gockley. On Sept. 6, they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.

Born in Womelsdorf on Oct. 26, 1937, he was the son of the late John L. Gockley and Laura Leininger King.

Following high school, he served in the United States Army Security Agency after the Korean Conflict. He was a Morse Code interceptor stationed at the Bad Aibling Station in Germany with his brother, Terry Gockley. For 47 years, he worked as a shoe cutter for the former Double H Boot Company in Womelsdorf. He enjoyed hunting, working outside, gardening, and his time as a ham radio operator.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Terry Gockley, of Womelsdorf; and sister, Ruth Buser, of Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Hartman; and half-brother, Marvin Weller.

He will be missed by his faithful Black Yorkie Poo, Alex.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
