It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn (Butch) Ginder on Oct. 24, 2025. He left this world peacefully after a brief illness and is now at home with Jesus his Savior.
Butch was born on March 27, 1937, to the late George F. and Marion G. (Buser) Ginder. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen J. (Yiengst), and children, Michelle, wife of Carroll (Rick) Kirby, and Michael, husband of Elizabeth (Rivera). He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Yahn, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Jim, Pete, and Ed. Butch enjoyed spending time with family, including seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Butch served in the U.S. Navy prior to working as a mechanic and equipment operator for local businesses, including Keller Brothers and Arthur Funk and Sons. Butch was a member of St. Paul’s UCC in Schaefferstown, where he worshiped and served. He was also a lifetime member of the Schaefferstown Volunteer Fire Company and served in multiple roles through the years, including chief. He enjoyed nature, hunting, and training the family dogs.
He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Nov. 3, 2025, at 7 p.m., at St. Paul’s UCC, 1304 Heidelberg Ave., Schaefferstown.
