Gloria E. Harrison, 86, of Palmyra, passed away on May 22, 2020. She was born on June 6, 1933 in Lebanon, PA, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gingrich) Dostich. She was a 1951 graduate of Lebanon High School.
Gloria was the widow of MSG Ralph J. Harrison (Retired) who died February 9, 1986. As a military family, they lived on military bases in Orleans, France, Mannheim, Germany, and numerous bases here in the United States. After returning home to Pennsylvania, Gloria managed the Cedar Book & Card Shop in downtown Lebanon for 26 years. She was the “go to” book resource for many years. In retirement, she enjoyed travel and coordinated bus trips for the Cleona Senior Citizens. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sports, particularly Penn State football. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and could be found at every play, softball game and school event.
A member of Hill United Church of Christ in Lebanon, she is survived by her daughter Marcia Perrotti (Charles) of Palmyra, son Timothy Harrison of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings James Dostich (Claire), Kay Lesmerises (widow of Leo); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Major Gordon Harrison (Retired), and sister Cynthia Dostich.
Burial will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, and services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gloria’s memory to the Children’s Miracle Network, 1249 Cocoa Avenue, Suite 115 Mail Code HS21 P.O. Box 852 Hershey, PA 17033-0852.
