Grace M. Yake, 90, of Myerstown, died Thursday, September 3, 2020, at her residence. She was the wife of Rev. Reginald A. Yake, who died June 23, 1987.
Born in Perth, Ontario, Canada, on October 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Hillis and Cora (Ralph) Moulton. Grace was a 1951 graduate of Ottawa Civic Hospital, where she became a registered nurse. Grace faithfully served in ministry with her husband Reginald, first as a pastor’s wife and co-laborer at churches in New Jersey and Indiana, then at Teen Challenge Training Center in Rehrersburg, PA. She was employed at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, for 15 years, retiring in 1986. After retirement, Grace worked at ECC Retirement Village, Myerstown, for nine years, leaving there in 2000. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dog, Betsy.
Grace is survived by a son, Stephen, husband of Jentry Yake, of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Lorraine, wife of Scott Jackson, of Myerstown; grandchildren, Briana Reigel, Brittany Price, Dylan Jackson, Griffin Yake; and great-grandchildren, Christian Kreiser, Magdalene and Alexander Reigel, Emily and Luca Price, Dylan Jr. and Georgia Jackson, Lily and Neveah Weller; sisters, Ruth Ferris, of Perth, Ontario, Canada, Betty, wife of Johnny Garrison, of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Glenn, husband of Doreen Moulton, of Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Yake.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Tri-County Worship Center, 1501 Schubert Rd., Bethel, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Friedens Memorial Park, Myerstown.
