Gregory Lynn Trump, 61, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020, in Newmanstown, PA.

He was born in Ephrata, PA on Nov. 23, 1958, a son of Richard Trump and Ramona Wilkins Trump. Greg was a dedicated and longstanding member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in Schaefferstown. He had a contagious laugh that naturally raised the spirits of those around him. Coupled with his love of Christ and easy-going demeanor, it was always a joy to have him in your presence. Greg’s favorite pastime was playing his banjo. His talents and love for bluegrass music were honed at a young age as a member of the Trump Family Bluegrass Band. They traveled up and down the east coast, delighting crowds at festivals and shows. As an avid outdoorsman, you could regularly find Greg hiking, camping, or casting a lure with close friends or grandchildren. He also took pleasure in tinkering around the home and brewing beer and wine. As a little boy, Greg was lovingly referred to as “Grasshopper” by his Pop with whom he shared an exceptional relationship. He passed down the extraordinary love from his grandfather to his own children and grandchildren. His legacy of love and kindness will be infinitely cherished.

Gregory is survived, dearly loved, and sorely missed, by his wife, Deborah; daughters, Robin Forney and Becky Thiry (husband Jason); stepdaughter, Shane Layser; parents, Richard Trump and Ramona Wilkins Trump; and brothers, Wesley Trump and Nick Trump (wife Vikki). Gregory was a proud “Pop Trump” to six grandchildren whom he deeply cherished: Jarrett and Gavin Forney, Emily and Bryson Thiry, and Elainna and Drayson Layser. We are so proud to call him our husband, dad, son, brother, pop, and friend. He will always be with us.
