Gretchen L. Neiswender, 52, passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at home with her husband by her side.

Born in Lebanon, PA, on Nov. 12, 1970, Gretchen was the daughter of the late James Kreitzer and Dorlee Kreitzer of Lebanon.

She graduated from Lebanon High School and went on to spend most of her career at Cornwall Manor as the Human Resource Coordinator.

Gretchen always loved cooking and, after her recurrence of breast cancer, cooked an immense amount of vegan cuisine. She was also a lover of camping and walking through nature, looking at animals.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Steven Neiswender. She is also survived by her sons, Cody Neiswender and Daniel Neiswender, and his partner, Brandon Barnes; and siblings, James “Jimmy” Kreitzer, Nicole Kreitzer, Christopher Kreitzer, and Heidi Patterson.

Gretchen was a ray of sunshine. She was a social butterfly who always wanted to help others. Her impact has been felt immensely by many in small and big ways because she truly cared about others. She was brave and focused on living each day to its fullest, enjoying the little things.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, at Cornwall United Methodist Church, 50 Freeman Dr., Lebanon, PA 17042.

In lieu of flowers, Gretchen requested that donations be made to the Lebanon Valley Rails-to-Trails, where she spent many miles walking and running over her lifetime. Donations may be mailed to L.V.R.T., P.O. Box 2043, Cleona, PA 17042, or online at lvrailtrail.com/support.
