Harriet E. “Mamie” Gillen, 76, of Palmyra, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at her residence. She was the wife of Gary J. Gillen, to whom she was married for 35 years.

Born in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary Grace (Shepherd) Eckenroth.

Harriet was a 1966 graduate of ELCO High School and worked for a total of 42 years as an LPN for the Good Samaritan Hospital, Cedar Haven, later retiring from the Renova Center. She attended LCBC in Harrisburg and was a member of Busy Bee’s at Lawn E.C. Church. Harriet enjoyed sewing, knitting, and quilting. She liked to cook, take care of her kitten, and spend time with her family. She and Gary were both avid Phillies fans, which they enjoyed together.

In addition to her husband, Gary, she is survived by her sons, Thomas Oliver, and fiancée, Lori Szymanik, and Mark Oliver, and wife, Kaitlin; step-daughter, Ashley N. Gillen Binder, and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Asher Oliver, Eliza Binder, Nolan Winnie Binder, Aniela Mae Oliver, and Mark Valentine Oliver; sisters, Lucy Anna, wife of Ivan Hanson, Grace Gichner, Paula Eckenroth, Trudy, wife of Frank Gass, Patricia Eckenroth, and Marian, wife of John Breive; brother, Richard Eckenroth, and wife, Susan; and sister-in-law, Jennie, wife of John Eckenroth.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Eckenroth and Joseph Eckenroth; and two sisters, Elizabeth “Betsy” Beretta and Charlotte Clair.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11 a.m., from Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Inurnment will be held privately. A visitation with her family will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of her service at the funeral home.
