Harvey H. “Bud” Hissner Sr., 88, of Lebanon, passed away at his home on Friday, Oct. 6, 2023. He was the husband of the late Janet D. Hissner, who passed away in 2009.
Bud was born in Fredericksburg on Sept. 29, 1935, to the late Howard H. and Martha (Ohnmacht) Hissner.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for the Lebanon City Police Department as a lieutenant. He was also a truck driver, drove a bus for Lebanon City, and was a driver at Ladd-Hanford. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 776 and Ebenezer United Methodist Church. More recently, he attended St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schaefferstown and the Lebanon Gospel Center. He enjoyed going to his friends’ homes to play poker, visiting the casino, playing cards, watching Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles football, going to Knoebel’s, traveling, and visiting his family on road trips. He was very family-focused.
Surviving is his children, Howard H. Hissner III, and his wife, Beverly, of Lebanon, TN, Harvey H. Hissner II, and his wife, Sandy, of Okatie, SC, and Melanie S., wife of Brian Lambert, of Lebanon, PA; grandchildren, Sara Koly, Ross Hissner, Mark Hissner, Daniel Hissner, Janet Wolf, Emma Yohe, and David Wolf; and great-grandchildren, Timothy, Layne, Jack, Zelda, Logan, and Ryan.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. There will be a visitation from 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
