Heather E. Light, 41, of Jonestown, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of Matthew J. Light, with whom she celebrated 11 ½ years of marriage.
Heather was born in Harrisburg, PA, on Oct. 9, 1984, to James N. Chantiles II and Deborah L. (McCullough) Chantiles. Heather graduated from Shippensburg University with her Bachelor of Arts in education and from Messiah College with her Master of Arts in counseling. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She was a past center director for U-Grow Child Care Center in Lebanon. Heather was a member of Lebanon Evangelical Free Church, where she was involved with the youth ministry. She was very involved with this ministry, and it meant the world to her.
In her younger years, she was involved with sports, having played basketball and softball. Heather played for the Shippensburg University softball team. In her junior year, she received ESPN recognition and was awarded the NFCA 1st Team All-American Division II, Louisville Slugger Award.
Heather was a member of She Runs This Town, Lebanon County, where she made many running friends. This group of friends was so supportive and became some of her most cherished friends. She thought the world of her running friends. Heather was involved with different Bible studies at her church, some being Life Group at church and a women’s group, Truth Seekers. Heather loved reading her Bible, and she loved God. Her greatest enjoyment in life and greatest title she had was being “MOM” to her two beloved sons.
In addition to her husband and her parents are her two sons, Brayden J. Light and Oakley A. Light; mother-in-law, Antonia M. Hess, and her husband, Daniel; father-in-law, Mark A. Light, and his wife, JoLyn; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; and cousins. She is also survived by her loving church family and friends. She loved her church and always called them her church family. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, L. Gene and Shirley L. (Smith) McCullough; and paternal grandparents, Dr. Nicholas J. and Roberta J. (Claybaugh) Chantiles.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Lebanon Evangelical Free Church, 600 Shepherd St., Jonestown, PA. Burial will be in Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Jonestown, following the service. Those attending the burial are encouraged to carpool to the cemetery. There will be a visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. The celebration of life will be livestreamed from the church.
