Helen J. Frey, 88, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. She was the wife of the late Gerald L. Frey Sr., who passed away in 2020.

Helen was born in Lancaster on Feb. 18, 1937, to the late Henry and Catherina (Brown) Hamm. She was a 1955 McCaskey High School graduate, where she was in the National Honor Society. She played violin in the orchestra. Helen worked at Armstrong Cork Co. and RR Donnelley. She was the secretary for Lancaster Christian School. She was a member of Calvary Church in Lancaster for 84 years, where she helped with the children’s ministry, served as a Connectors Sunday school teacher’s helper, and served in the nursery. Helen enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing puzzles, traveling, and hosting dinner parties and BBQs. She enjoyed sharing the Gospel with others.

Surviving are her children, Gerald L. Frey Jr., of Landisburg, Kathy Yoder, of Leola, Wendy Latham (Jeffrey), of Fountain, CO; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey A. Frey; and siblings, Albert Hamm (Rita), Erna Brodhecker (Walter), Anne Acker (Ray), and Mary Carper (Richard).

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, PA. Interment will be held privately.
