Helen R. Unger, 84, of Grantville, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Jonestown on Jan. 9, 1941, Helen was the daughter of the late Solomon A. and Phoebe R. (Wolfe) Unger. She retired from Hershey Chocolate with over 45 years of service.

Helen is survived by her sons, Michael P. (Shelley) Romanoff, of Jonestown, and Luther T. (Melissa) Furman, of Lebanon; daughters, Terry A. (Alan) Hafer, of Milford, DE, and Paula A. Basham, of Grantville; brothers, William Unger, of Annville, Ronald Unger, of Lebanon, Clarence Unger, of Lebanon, Frederick Unger, of Pine Grove, David Unger, of Jonestown, and Melvin Unger, of Myerstown; sisters, Margaret Unger, of Williamsport, MD, Jennie Boltz, of Frystown, Bertha Bender, of Nineveh, NY, and Barbara Smith, of Myerstown; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her grandsons, Jarrett P. Romanoff and Brandon L. Furman; great-grandson, Tanner L. Geiger Via; and brother, Russell Unger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Chapel Cemetery, Green Point.
