Huong Helen (Nguyen) Tran, 64, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Camp Hill after her battle with cancer. She was born on Monday, July 2, 1956, in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Her father was Canh Van Nguyen and her mother is Cam Ngoc Bui.

In Vietnam, Huong was top of her class while growing up. She excelled in English and translated bible verses for the church. She immigrated, at age 18, to America in 1975. Huong first lived in Whittier, CA while finishing her Bachelor of Science in Accounting at California State University of Long Beach (1982). When she wasn’t working at TEAC, she loved to go to concerts and travel with family and friends. She then joined her family when they followed to the United States, moving to Pennsylvania in 1984. She began working at The Hershey Company as an accountant and remained in finance for over 35 years. Helen resided in Palmyra with her children for the majority of her life.

Helen loved music, karaoke, adventure, and helping others. She loved to be around people and animals and took in many pets, especially ones brought home by her children. Helen was a very dedicated mother. She worked multiple jobs for many years to support her family and was very driven to help her children succeed. She enjoyed going to her daughters’ sports games, track meets, concerts, and events, and later, her granddaughter’s as well. Helen spent her most recent years hanging out with friends, bowling in a league, and watching movies at home with family. She was an easy friend to everyone, willing to lend an ear for support, and was always remembered for her infectious energy.

Helen is survived by three daughters: Lana Le Rea, of La Mirada, CA, Thuy-Tien “Tiena” Tran, of Camp Hill, and Phuong “Violet” Tran, of Reading, as well as a granddaughter, Tailynn Tran, her siblings: Hieu Nguyen, Hung Nguyen, and Holly Pham, her mother, and extended family and caring friends.
