Ida R. Van Aken, 99, of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Myerstown Nursing & Rehab. She was the wife of the late Charles O. Van Aken.
Born in Berwick on Sept. 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Nesbitt and Cora E. (Shultz) Remley. Ida retired from the Nescopeck Elementary School, where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Nescopeck and the Cornwall United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, David C., husband of Brenda Van Aken, of Mifflinville, and Robert L., husband of Cindy Van Aken, of North Cornwall; daughter, Susan L., wife of William Huntington, of Milton, DE; grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Seyfert, Michael (Meghan) Van Aken, Rebecca (Matt) Folker, and Christopher (Lena) Huntington; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Achey, Dylan Roberts, Juliana, Annabelle, and Charles Huntington, and Charlotte and Mackenzie Van Aken. She was preceded in death by her sister, Anita McClintock.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
