Ira L. Mast, 74, of Myerstown, loving husband of Louise (Shank) for over 53 years, passed away on the evening of Feb. 19, 2024. He was the son of the late Levi and Ella (Schrock) Mast.

He was a member of the Swatara Mennonite Church. He served faithfully as a deacon for over 50 years. Throughout his life, he filled a role on various boards and committees. He began his career in 1971 installing overhead doors. Later, he became co-owner of Shank Door Company, where he continued to work up until his death. His insight, generosity, and commitment to Jesus Christ and the church were an inspiration to many.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children, James D., husband of Katie (Fisher) Mast, of Myerstown, Wilma J., wife of Matthew Brunk, of Elida, OH, Judith M., wife of LaVern Miller, of Estacada, OR, David R., husband of Joan (Martin) Mast, of Myerstown, Christina J., wife of Jolan Martin, of Reinholds, and Darvin B. Mast, of Lancaster; 27 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Philip Mast; and sisters, Rosa, wife of Wayne Martin, Lorene Mast, and Louella, wife of David Lehman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rosebud Miller.

His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at Swatara Mennonite Church, 10 Camp Swatara Road, Myerstown. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
