Irene I. Deitz, 78, of Schaefferstown, formerly of Lebanon and Malden, MA, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a daughter of the late Alexander and Irene (Alfoldi) Stoffer.
Irene was born in Everett, MA on July 4, 1942. She was a graduate of Malden MA High School and was employed as a paralegal/legal secretary for Buzgon Davis law offices from 1967 to 2008. Irene was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. She enjoyed doing yard work, going camping, visiting with neighbors, and attending her grandchildren’s performances at school and sports events.
Irene is survived by her son, Jon A. Deitz, and his wife, Heidi S.; three grandchildren, who she loved very much and were the apples of her eye, Aaron J., David A., and Hannah S. Deitz; a brother, Alexander Stoffer, and his wife, Eleanor; and two nephews, Steven and Siegfried Stoffer. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Stoffer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon. Interment will follow at Holy Savior Cemetery in Cornwall. A visitation will be held prior to Mass from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in front of St. Mary’s.
