J. Melvin Funk, 91, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Londonderry Village. He was the husband of the late Jean M. (Wenrich) Funk, who passed away in 2010.

Born in Lebanon, he was a son of the late John H. and Rosie (Kreider) Funk. Mel, as he was known, was a graduate of Lebanon High School and retired from Bethlehem Steel, where he worked as a tool maker for 32 years. Following his retirement from Bethlehem Steel, he worked in the library of the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Cleona, where he was a past member of the administrative board and trustee. Mel enjoyed bowling in the church league and woodworking and was active in the Lebanon Senior Center and the Lebanon Cedars Camping Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Blouch, of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Gretchen, wife of Christopher Hugendubler, and Kiersten Blouch, and fiancé, Christopher Bernstein; longtime companion of 14 years, Lucille Nevin, of Lebanon; brother, Richard Funk, and wife, Judy, of Jonestown; and sister, Marion Heffner, of Annville. Mel was preceded in death by his son, David Funk; and sisters, Lucille Griffith and Anna Alt.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11 a.m., from Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Inurnment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park. A visitation with his family will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of his service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church, 29 E. Maple St., Cleona, PA 17042, in his memory.
