Jacqueline “Jackie” H. Neil, 91, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, Jan. 6, 2025, at Arden Courts of Susquehanna, Harrisburg.
Born in Lebanon on Feb. 11, 1933, Jackie was a daughter of the late Catherine M. White.
She attended Lebanon Catholic High School. Jackie worked at various sewing factories before settling down with her beloved husband, Edward “Neil” R. Neil, to raise her beautiful family. As she liked to say, “I was happy and content to live a simple life.” Jackie and Ed celebrated 42 years of marriage before his passing in 1998. After this time, Jackie continued to enjoy spending time with her family and friends, shopping at her favorite local thrift stores, playing checkers, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading a good book, and going out to eat. However, the thing she cherished the most was time spent with her two granddaughters.
In addition to her mother and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine T. Stegman; and granddaughter, Nicole R. Neil.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Bradley S. Neil, and his wife, Lisa, of Harrisburg, and Michael E. Neil, of Lebanon; daughter, Michelle A. Ritter, and her husband, Richard, of Ephrata; granddaughters, Jenna R. Youngblood, and her husband, William, of Harrisburg, and Megan N. Tenaglia-Neil, and her wife, Sophia, of Brookhaven, PA; niece, Denise S. Kimmel, and her husband, Tom, of Lebanon; and great-niece, Lorra Kimmel, of Lebanon.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 12:30-1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Christman’s Funeral Home Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon, with the Rev. Frank Terhune officiating. Interment will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jackie’s name may be made to either: Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, Harrisburg Office, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 (alz.org/pa), or Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 420 Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17109.
