James Bryan “Smitty” Smith, 65, of Mount Aetna, PA, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at his residence. He was the husband of Linda M. (Wagner) Smith, to whom he was married 32 years on May 6, 2021.
Born in Lebanon, PA on April 26, 1956, he was a son of the late Monroe and Ruby (Marks) Smith. Smitty was a very fun-loving man and hard worker, working two full-time jobs. He worked as a foundry worker at Lebanon Steel Foundry, and later at ELCO High School as a maintenance worker, and was a metallurgist at Quaker Alloy. Jim loved working with his ELCO family. He worked up until October 21, 2021, two hours a day. Some days he could hardly walk, but off he went. Smitty enjoyed riding motorcycle, camping and golfing. He was a lifetime member of the Lebanon Valley Motorcycle Club, Mt. Aetna, and Mt. Zion Fire Companies, and the Maennerchor Club-Lebanon.
In addition to his wife, Smitty is survived by daughters, Janelle, wife of Jeremy Hartranft, of Mt. Zion, Jamie, wife of Danny Strunk, of Bernville; sons, James, Jr., fiancé of Dajen Light, of Lebanon, Jeremy, husband of Brandi LaFountain, of Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren, Breana, Karley, Madison, Doel, Kaylee, Rylee, Parker, Grant, Eli; sisters, Dot, wife of Ken Hartman, of Lebanon, Barb, wife of Eric Moyer, of Lebanon; brother, Carl Smith, of Myerstown; and many nieces and nephews. Smitty was preceded in death by a son, Bryan James Smith; and his brothers, Les, Bill, Donny, Dan, John and Rob Smith.
There will be no services. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
