Surrounded by his loved ones, Jim Arnold, 84, of Palmyra, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at MS Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Frances F. “Fay” (Kless) Arnold, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Jim was born in Lebanon on Oct. 11, 1940, to the late Frederick “Fred” and Joyce Carlin (Borgner) Arnold. He was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. A U.S. Navy veteran, he went on to serve 35 years as an installer for Bell Telephone (Verizon). He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the Lebanon Valley Motorcycle Club, and the Weidman Street Marines. He had a lifelong love of aviation, earning his private pilot’s license in the early 1960s. He went on to build and fly spec airplanes and a gyrocopter and attended many Fly Ins in Oshkosh, WI, and Lakeland, FL. He also loved photography and filmmaking. In retirement, he enjoyed tinkering in his shop, helping friends and family, and gardening.
Surviving, in addition to Jim’s wife, are his children, James F. Arnold, of Lancaster, and Francine F. Sella, of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Luca and Leila Sella; and sister, Janet Roof, of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Elizabeth Arnold.
A procession line-up will form on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 9 a.m., at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
A celebration of life and sharing of memories will be held with the family at a later date. When the family has selected a time, the funeral home will be updated with this information.
