James E. Guth, 72, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, at home. He was the husband of Geraldine R. (King) Guth.
Born in Lebanon on Jan. 4, 1949, he was the son of the late Margaret M. (Daub) Guth and John Warren Guth, Jr.
James was a proud veteran of the United States Army Security Agency where he served in Vietnam. He earned a full patch with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 22-5 and was a member of the American Legion and Lebanon VFW Post 23. Prior to his retirement, James worked as a mechanic for the Hershey Chocolate Company.
In addition to his wife Geraldine, James is survived by his children, James Christopher Guth, Yvonne Marie Guth, and John Edward Guth (Tricia Marie), eight grandchildren, Jaime Coyle (Denny), Katie Guth, Meg Guth, Zach Copenhaver, Alexis Johnson, Gabriel Johnson, Madison Guth, and Kelsey Guth, two great-grandchildren, Henley and Cohen Coyle, a brother, John Warren Guth (Trey), his aunt, Nancy Cramp, and his sister-in-law, Thomasine Guth. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas, and his sister, Jan.
A viewing will take place from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 South 9th Street, Lebanon, PA with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. As James has done countless times over the years, his fellow veterans will then escort him to Indiantown Gap National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with full military honors at 12:30 p.m.
