James H. “Jim” Hoffman, 78, of Myerstown, died on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Rebecca J. “Becky” (Hertzog) Hoffman.

Born in Lebanon on June 16, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Vera (Bashore) Hoffman. Jim was a 1966 graduate of ELCO and served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. Following his time in the Army, Jim was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years. He was a member of the Myerstown VFW Post 6076, the Richland Legion Post 880, and the Goodwill Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughter, Allyson J. Buffenmeyer, and her companion, John Kowlowski, of Myerstown; son, J. Ryan Hoffman, and his wife, Lindsay Marie, of Newmanstown; brother, Brian Hoffman, of Myerstown; and grandchildren, Addison Buffenmeyer and Piper Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Terry and Craig Hoffman; and sister, Sharon Anspach.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10 a.m., at the Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
