Jim, 94, of North Lebanon Township, passed away on Aug. 14, 2023.

He was born to Gilbert T. Morrissey and Bertha A. (Witmeyer) Morrissey on Aug. 4, 1929.

He was preceded in death by his son, James (Mike) Morrissey Jr.; and siblings, Gilbert Jr.(infant), Mary Hogge, Kathryn Seyfert, Richard Morrissey, Patricia Kercher, Joseph Morrissey, Fleurette Kreiser, and Thomas Morrissey.

He is survived by his sons, David Morrissey and Daniel Morrissey; a daughter, Grace Harding; grandchildren, Shannon Baker and James Morrissey III, and his wife, Amy; great-grandchildren, James Morrissey IV and Olivia Morrissey; siblings, Regina Morrissey, Gilbert Morrissey, Jacqueline Hunt, Constance Squyars, and Eileen Sant.

He started at Iren S. Light Inc. as a teenager and continued to run oil businesses into his later years.

He served his local community for many years. He helped to organize and found the Rural Security Fire Company and The Sunset Lions Club. He loved taking Santa around to the children of Sunset and handing out goody bags for many years.

He enjoyed helping on farms as a child and carried this joy for the remainder of his life, whether he was on his Farmall A tractor in his garden or picking fruit from the orchard. He could often be found outside at his farm, working in his white hat.

A drop-in time of remembrance with light refreshments will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon, PA 17042.
