James N. “Schnecky” Schneck, Jr., 86, of Lickdale, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at his home. He was the husband of the late Martha Krall Schneck.

Born in Pine Grove on July 6, 1935, he was the son of the late James N. and Suzy Eidem Schneck. Jim retired as a Union Electrician. He also had worked for Cal Hetrick and owned and operated his own excavating business. He attended the Trinity United Methodist Church, Lickdale, and he was a member of the American Legion, AmVets and Perseverence Fire Co. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and NASCAR, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Jacob Showers, of Jonestown; daughters Karen Schaeffer, of Sebring, FL, Diann Showers, of Lebanon and Linda Smith, of Grantville; brothers Roy Schneck, of Lebanon and Donald Schneck, of Schuylkill Haven; sister Annie Fessler, of Pine Grove; and eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Jack Robinson, a brother, and eleven sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 98 Fisher Ave., Jonestown. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Hetzel’s Cemetery, Pine Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.
