Jane C. Ressler, 94, of Cornwall, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at Cornwall Manor. She was the wife of the late Melvin Ressler, who passed away in 2019.
Jane was born in Lewistown on Aug. 29, 1930, to the late Marvin and Mildred (Williams) Roberts.
She was a horseback riding instructor as well as a homemaker. Jane and her late husband were the owners of Fairview Farm and Stables in Elizabethtown. She most recently attended Grace Brethren Church in Elizabethtown. In her earlier years, Jane had formed a 4-H riding club. She enjoyed riding, boarding, and teaching horses. Jane achieved over 10,000 miles in competitive endurance rides. She had a love for music and singing, having been in a trio with her son, Brian, and her late daughter, Karen. Jane also enjoyed reading, working with flowers in her garden, and watching the animals outside, such as squirrels and birds.
Surviving are her children, Ivan Ressler, of Marietta, Brian Ressler (Ruthann), of Palmyra, Dennis Ressler (Marite), of Spring, TX, Alan Ressler, of Elizabethtown, Tiera Persing, of Spring, TX, and Nichelle Larson (Philip), of Camp Hill; grandchildren, Angela, Mark, Priscilla, Jonathan, Michael, Emily, Philip, Pamela, Solomon, Lila, and Sierra; great-grandchildren, Audrey, James, Miles, Oliver, Wynne, William, Avery, and Mackenzie; brother, Marvin Roberts Jr. (Kathryn), of Holtwood; and a niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Parrett.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 22, 2025, at 2 p.m., in the Zerr Chapel on the campus of Cornwall Manor Retirement Community, with Reverend David Harris officiating. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2025, at Zerr Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Jane’s memory to the Catra Therapeutic Riding Association or an animal rescue mission.
