Janet E. (Long) Patrick Hernley, 76, of Myerstown, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, at the UMPC Community Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg. She was the wife of the late Marlin H. Hernley, who passed away in September 2021, and her first husband, Wilmer W. Patrick, who passed away in 1998.

Born in Harrisburg on June 2, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Orval M. and Mary E. (Adams) Long. Janet graduated from Central Dauphin East High School with the Class of 1967. She worked as a supervisor for the Pennsylvania Utility Commission until she retired. Janet attended the Lebanon God’s Missionary Church. She helped as the kitchen coordinator and was part of the Oasis singles at the church. She enjoyed traveling, loved gospel concerts, hosting hymn sings at her home, playing games, sewing, crafts, and working the merchandising table for the Collingsworth Family at their concerts. She and her first husband, Wilmer, served as youth leaders at the Mount Laurel Church of God. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Deborah, wife of Steve Zies, of Hancock, MD; brother, Kenneth R., husband of Cecelia Long, of Harrisburg; niece, Kimberly A., wife of James Noss, of Enola; great-nieces and -nephews; and great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her stepson, Michael Patrick.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at the God’s Missionary Church, 2127 Hill St., Lebanon, PA 17046. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her church.
