Janet (Hartman) Ganter Grun, 91, of Palmyra, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Londonderry Village. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Ganter and Frederick H. Grun.

Born in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Hencil and Thelma (Kalbach) Hartman. Janet was a 1950 graduate of Annville High School. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and served on the church council and sang in the choir. Janet was also a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church choir. She was a past general chairman of the Good Samaritan Hospital Street Fair and the Lebanon Woman’s Club. Janet was the chairman of the arts department of the PA Federation of Woman’s Clubs. She performed for several years in “The Company” of the Lebanon Community Theatre. Janet also entertained civic and church groups with musical programs on the autoharp and was an avid contract bridge player and bridge teacher.

She is survived by three children Roberta, wife of Edward Hoffer of Annville, Allan F. Ganter and wife Sue of Lebanon, and Fred D. Ganter and wife Dawn of Tampa, FL; two step-daughters Ellen (Grun) Hunter of Mt. Gretna and Emily (Grun) Nasta and husband John of Hershey; five grandchildren Kendra Hoffer, Chad Hoffer, Alecia Ganter, Jaclyn Ganter and Daniel Dawson; five step-grandchildren Daniel Hunter, David Hunter, Kevin Hunter, Hazel Nasta, and Adam Nasta; four great-grandchildren Tyler McAnuff, Rylan McAnuff, Owen Hoffer, and Keegan Isenhour; three brothers Robert C. Hartman and wife Patricia, James W. Hartman, and Michael A. Hartman and wife Linda Gonya; one sister Carol A. Kreider of Lebanon; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. from Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 618 E. Main St. Annville. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at the funeral home.
