It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Janice A. Deitz, 81, of Cleona.
She was born on May 9, 1940, to the late Keith Owen Rivir and Dorothy Pearl Rivir in Salina, KS.
She met her husband, of almost 61 years, Ken Deitz of Lebanon while he was stationed there in the Air Force. In 1995, Ken and Jan built their dream home on top of a mountain just outside of Westfield in Tioga County. They resided there for almost 25 years, just recently moving to Cleona in the last four years.
Through the years, she served as a Girl Scout leader, President of Annville Cleona Girls Softball Association, Past President of Cleona Women’s Club, Deacon and Elder at Christ Church, and formally worked part-time at the Hershey Museum as the Weekend Supervisor.
Among her greatest, happiest accomplishments were being the beloved wife of Ken, mom to Kathy Linsenbach (Frank), of Cape Coral, Florida, and Judi Snyder (Doug) of Annville. She was affectionately known as GG to numerous friends and family but especially to her beautiful granddaughters Alayna and Kelsey whom she loved with all of her heart and was so incredibly proud of. She loved to tell stories and by doing so, touched a lot of lives. She will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 24 at 9 am at Kreamer’s with a service at 10 am. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Kreamer Funeral Home, Annville. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, contributions can be made to Christ Church United Church of Christ or the Annville Free Library.
