Jay R. Hoffer, Sr., 92, of Annville, passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Elener M. Hoffer, who passed away in 2018. They celebrated 68 years in marriage.
Jay was born in Florin, Lancaster County, on Aug. 17, 1929, to the late Simon H. and Ada M. (Shearer) Hoffer.
He had worked for Bethlehem Steel as an auto equipment mechanic. He enjoyed music, whether that be singing karaoke, listening to music, or playing different instruments. His family meant the world to him. He loved his wife and family dearly.
He is survived by his children, Jay R. Hoffer, Jr., and companion, Annie Sebok, Carol L. Young, and her husband, Raymond, Sally A. Yeagley, and her husband, Gerald, Edward A. Hoffer, and his wife, Roberta, James R. Hoffer, and his wife, Kelly, Joseph R. Hoffer, and his wife, Linda, and Jerry R. Hoffer, and his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Hoffer; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Alvin, Marvin, Donald, Linda, and MaryAnn. He is also survived by his dear caretaker, Elvis Opare.
He was preceded in death by his son, John C. Hoffer, and his siblings, Simon, Allen, Ruth, and Lois.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m. from Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. There will be a viewing held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
