Jean Ann Ladd nee Zehler born on Sept. 11, 1966, to Carl and Joan Zehler in the city of Buffalo, New York, entered into the arms of her beloved Jesus on Aug. 10, 2025, at home in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Jean is survived by her husband, Jason Ladd; sister, Helen (the late Dennis) Krug; and brother, Carl “Nick” (Denise) Zehler. Her children include Joshua (Stephanie) Jameson, Lindsay Smith, Dwight Ladd, Melissa Ladd, Connor (Maria) Ladd, and Austin Ladd. In addition, Nana Jean loved 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean grew up in the hills of Western New York, enjoying creek walking, horses, making maple syrup, farming, and other outdoor activities. This love of the outdoors continued as she migrated to Florida and then back, often accompanied by her forever best friend, Kim (Darin) Crump. She built a cleaning business that evolved into elder care as families trusted Jean with their homes and loved ones.

Jean is a Christian who lived her earthly life as a testimony. Her efforts to help ministries included jail ministry, lunch programs, shut-ins, and children’s ministry. She loved car rides and rallies as long as the top came down. Jean and her husband took many road trips exploring all corners of the United States, from Alaska to Florida and California to Maine.  Feeding the masses was Jean’s specialty, as anyone who stopped by was invited for dinner. Potlucks, picnics, holiday dinners, or just “feeding the boys” were reasons to whip up favorites, such as zucchini yum-yum or peanut butter pie.

No services or burial will be held. The family requests no flowers; however, memorial donations can be made to the following:
