Jean L. Barnhart, 82, of Myerstown, PA, died on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at UPMC Harrisburg. She was the wife of Harry C. Barnhart, who died on Oct. 24, 1994.
Born in West Cornwall, PA, on Feb. 27, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Annie (Livering) Weaber. Jean was a 1961 graduate of South Lebanon High School. She worked in housekeeping at Stone Ridge Poplar Run, retiring in 2005, and for Phoenix Services as a Personal Care Assistant.
She was most recently a member of Myerstown Church of the Brethren. In previous years, while a member of the Bible Fellowship Church of Lebanon, she was very active in the children’s ministries, including Sunday school, vacation bible school, summer day camp, and the action & adventure programs. Jean enjoyed gardening, music and singing, and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Linda M. Mock, of Palmyra, and Bobbi J., wife of Michael Scirbona, of Hopewell Junction, NY; sons, Michael L. Barnhart, husband of Michele, of Richland, and Christopher A. Barnhart, of Myerstown; sisters, Hazel Weaber Landis, Geraldine Weaber Waltermeyer, and Lois Weaber Wealand; brothers, Samuel Weaber Jr., Robert Weaber, Ronald Weaber Sr., James Weaber, Terry Weaber, Donald Weaber, and Jeffrie Weaber; granddaughters, Emily, Amanda, Hannah, and Audrey (Jacob); great-grandchild, Emersyn; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Thomas Weaber.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, from 6-8 p.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at 11 a.m., with a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 W. Stoever Ave., Myerstown, PA. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
