Jean Leininger Konski, 89, passed away on August 9, 2021, at Spang Crest Retirement Community in Lebanon, PA. She was the wife of Stanley W. Konski. Born on December 14, 1931 in Lebanon County, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Ruth (Wengert) Leininger.

Jean was employed by the Lebanon Daily News for close to 29 years, retiring in 1994 where she was well liked by many. After retirement, Jean and her husband Stanley moved to Spring Hill, Florida, where they spent 23 years, returning to Lebanon in 2017. Jean loved the arts and was known for organizing bus trips to New York City to attend various Broadway productions as well as the Holiday Show at Radio City Music Hall.

Jean was an avid reader, loved to dance, swim, shop, and enjoyed playing bingo with her mother in Richland, as well as enjoyed talking with her four sisters, of whom she was the oldest. She loved to travel and often took nieces and nephews along with her children to the beach. Jean was a member of the YMCA (Lebanon PA and Spring Hill, FL) for many years where she loved to socialize, swim and exercise. She volunteered her time to many organizations, including Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church in Myerstown, PA, the Democratic Party in Florida, helping children to read in Florida, and serving as a Girl Scout leader in Richland. Jean was a loving “Baba” to her only grandchild, Andrea.

Jean is survived by her husband, Stanley W. Konski (Juniper Village, Lebanon, PA), to whom she was married to for 69 years, her two children whom she was so proud of: Dr. Andre A. Konski (Carol Deck), Philadelphia, Antoinette Konski, Esq.(David McIntyre) of Los Altos, CA, one grandchild Andrea Hanson (Joshua Hanson) of Sewell, NJ, one great grandchild, Zoey, one sister, June Boyer and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine “Chub” Weaver, Jeanette Sites, and JoAnne Weiss. The family wishes to thank those who provided her excellent care at Spang Crest Retirement Community.
