Jean V. Boltz, 89, of Myerstown, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, of Lebanon. She was the wife of the late John E. Boltz.

Born in Indiantown Gap on July 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie Elliott Deaven. Jean had worked for the USDA as a food inspector, working mainly in Fredericksburg. She retired in 2001. She was a graduate of Jonestown High School with the Class of 1947. She was a member of St. Paul’s Hamlin U.C.C. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and word search puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, William J., husband of Lizabeth Boltz, of Tucson, AZ, and Ray H., husband of Kim Boltz, of Kittanning, daughters, Betty J., wife of Fred Martin, of Myerstown, and Ruth Ann, wife of Robert Dietterick, of Fredericksburg, a brother, Mark Deaven, of Elizabethtown, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta Wolfe, Lourraine Buck, and Mareda Boltz.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at the Hamlin Cemetery.
