Jeanette S. “Doll” Reed, 86, of Myerstown, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehab. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Ken” Reed, who passed away in October 2024.

She was born in Lebanon on Nov. 10, 1938, and was the youngest and last remaining child of the late Ira R. Sr. and Katie S. (Brubaker) Stickler.

Jeanette and her husband both grew up in West Lebanon, graduated Lebanon High School, and were married for 67 years. Jeanette’s adult life included working at the Lebanon Bean Cannery; as a home party demonstrator at Dutch Maid Clothing; at the former Bogene factory in West Lebanon; and then as office manager at Strickler Chiropractic in Palmyra. Jeanette and her husband started Stickler’s Custom Millwork in the 1980s, where she was the bookkeeper and office manager. Jeanette was a member of Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, a proud YMCA Mother’s Council member, and a Cub Scout den mother.

She and her husband were avid Hershey Bears hockey fans, enjoying 40-plus years as season ticket holders. Jeanette enjoyed baking and cooking, especially family holiday dinners, along with cleaning, ironing, and cutting the grass on “her” John Deere. Jeanette particularly enjoyed family beach trips to Stone Harbor creating many “forever memories.”

She is survived by her sons, Mark Reed (Jill) and Stephen Reed (Donna), all of Lebanon. Jeanette was known as either “Gir” or “Gertie” by her beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Caster (Kevin), Karen Neufeld (Dan), Christi Wagner (Bart), Kristen Hess (Erich), Jason Reed (Kristan), Corey Miller, Jordan Reed, and Jennea Spade, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, at 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m., at Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church, 1635 Mill Road, Lebanon, PA. Interment at Grand View Cemetery, Annville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to her church.
