Jeanne Hower Snavely, 83, died Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, PA.

She was born September 1, 1939, to the late Ben Hower and Helen Hower nee Noll.

Jeanne was a 1956 graduate of Lebanon High School and a 1959 graduate of the Reading Nursing School. She married the late Jay L. Snavely on February 14, 1959. Both were lifelong active members of Kochenderfer’s United Methodist Church. Jeanne taught Sunday School to children and adult classes and religious sex education for youth. She enjoyed baking, and coconut custards were her specialty for bake sales. Jeanne was a homemaker and substitute school nurse.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Earley of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Sylvia Mellor of West Deptford, New Jersey; three children; Cynthia Snavely of Lady Lake, Florida, Christopher Snavely of Lititz, Pennsylvania and Constance Snavely of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Corbin Snavely and Shraé Wise; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, November 3, at 11:00 am at Kochenderfer’s United Methodist Church, 1105 Kochenderfer Rd. Lebanon, PA 17046. A visitation will be held at the church at 10:00 am prior to the service. Interment at Kochenderfer’s Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
