Jeffrey A. Smith Sr., 66, of Grantville, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of Linda B. (Showers) Smith. On May 15, they would have celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary.
Born in Lebanon on May 18, 1958, he was the son of the late Kapp H. Smith Sr. and Katherine M. (Wise) Smith.
Jeff retired from Rock Rd. Construction in Newmanstown, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He loved racing and, for a time, he owned his own race car and enjoyed racing at Linda’s Speedway. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jeffery A. Smith Jr., and his wife, Karin, of Jonestown, and Kevin McCallin, and his wife, Samantha, of Jonestown; daughter, Heather S. McCallin, of Grantville; grandchildren, Madison Smith, and her boyfriend, Cody Daub, of Fredericksburg, Trinidy Derr, and her boyfriend, Brennan Lerch, of Grantville, Brayden Travis, of Lebanon, Issac McCallin, of Jonestown, and Hannah Smith, of Jonestown; great-grandchildren, Stormy “Gumba” and Luna Smith and Xavier “Bubby” Reyes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Rocky; brothers, William Smith and Kapp Smith II; sisters, Sherma-Lee Rhoades and Linda Zehring; and nephews, Kapp H. Smith III and Jerry Zehring.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5-7 p.m., at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. A service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the funeral home to help offset the cost.
