Jerry A. Getz, 84, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Peggy A. (Newmaster) Getz, of Lebanon. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past June.

Born in Fredericksburg on Aug. 29, 1939, he was the son of the late Raymond and Annie (Davis) Getz.

He drove truck for many different companies over the years. Jerry was a member of Mt. Zion Fire Community Company, Newmanstown Athletic Association, and Liberty Fire Company Marching Club, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, butchering, and fixing cars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Susan A., wife of Scott Kleinfelter, of Cleona, and Kim, wife of Lynn Bell, of Jonestown; son, Jerry A. Getz Jr., of East Berlin; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
