Joanne A. Bates, 67, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Union Twp. on June 18, 1955, she was the daughter of the late William H. Kreiser Sr. and Emily A. Mayberry Kreiser.

Joanne had worked at the former College Hill Poultry in Fredericksburg. She enjoyed watching the Lifetime Movie Network, and fishing and especially playing cards with her sisters and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Shaun W. Hornberger, of Mt. Carmel, and Brian K. Bates, of Fredericksburg; brothers, Larry Kreiser, of Lebanon, and Dean Greanawalt, of Palmerton; sisters, Annie Smith, of Mt. Zion, Ruth Pthueger, of Jonestown, and Sarah Clauser, of Strausstown; and her grandchildren, MacKenzie, Christian, and Braxton Hornberger.

She was preceded in death by her significant other, David G. Renshaw Jr.; her son, Charles J. Bates; an infant daughter; and brothers, Harry, Henry, and William Kreiser Jr.; and a sister, Caliemae Schaefer.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
