Joanne M. Strizak of Hazleton passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Lehigh Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Strizak.

Born in Hazleton on July 18, 1950, she was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Gilbert McGeehin. Joanne retired from the Hazleton Area School District, where she was a cafeteria employee. She loved camping, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Kelly M. Strizak and her companion Cory Collins of Rochester, NY; brother John McGeehin and his wife Cynde of Herndon, VA; and sisters Sharon Gogola of West Hazleton, and Nancy Arendash and her companion Robert Hummel of Lebanon.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Raymond Gogola and James Arendash.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the Christ Lutheran Church, 210 W. Green St., Hazleton. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment for close family only will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
