Joanne M. Umberger, 87, of Grantville, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Lester G. Umberger, who passed away in 2011.

Joanne was born in Hershey on January 1, 1935, to the late Mark Kreider Wagner and Sara Jane (Hoffman) Wagner.

She was the co-owner of Umberger’s Trailer Sales, she was also a cashier at The Medicine Shoppe in Palmyra. She was a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church and Grace Chapel. She was also a former member of AACA, The Hershey Region, and The PA Dutch Region. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid reader.

Surviving is her children, Lynn R. Umberger, Doreen J. Umberger, DeAnn J. Feaser and her husband Chuck, grandchildren, Mikel, Julian, Adam, Markus Umberger, Jarrett, and Jerika Feaser, great-grandchildren, Dakota, Silas, Milo, Jack Umberger, and siblings, Nancy Garrison, Paula Nester, and Audrey Buck.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Wayne Wagner, Ronald Wagner, Carol Fake, and Doris Wagner.

A service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 12 PM from Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery, Grantville. There will be a viewing from 11 AM – 12 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hershey Medical Center for Cancer Research. Contributions may be directed to the Penn State Cancer Institute.
