John H. Lerch, 79, of Myerstown, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at his home. He was the husband of Sandra K. Shirk Lerch.

Born in Mt. Zion on December 21, 1941, he was the son of the late Ephraim V. and Cora M. Stephen Lerch. For many years he delivered fuel oil for C.R. Lefflers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by step-sons David M. Ziara of OK and Michael M. husband of Rhodara Ziara of Bury St. Edmonds, England; step-daughters Michelle L. wife of O’dell Burton of Salisbury, MD and Celeste M. Ziara wife of Roger Sanson of Salisbury, MD; brothers Paul Lerch of Leesburg FL, Carl Lerch of Aberdeen, MD; sister Anna Wertz of Lebanon PA; and nine grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by brothers Howard, Harry, Raymond and Allen Lerch; sisters Margaret Sattazahn, Irene Troutman and Ruth Hostetter.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Walmer’s Union Cemetery, Indiantown Gap.
